Harry Potter's 20th Anniversary
« on: June 26, 2017, 04:47:36 pm »
For any Potter fans out there, it's been 20 years since JK Rowling had Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone published!

I'm not particularly into Harry Potter in a big way, though, I've seen all the movies & enjoyed most of them.

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!

I saw on Facebook if you type the characters names they come up in color and when you click on them, a wand comes out and spreads magic! It was so cool!!

It just blows my mind that it has been twenty years since the first book.  Each story was amazing and the movies truly captured the essence of the journey.  It just seems so unreal that it has been two decades since that first publication.  I'll bet JK Rowling can't believe it's been that long herself since she brought hundreds of thousands of people back to book reading, an art thought dead in the age of technology.  Not saying there wasn't digital copies bought, but the hard-copies sold faster than it took to stack them in shelves.

I had only just turned 14 when the first book was released. I'm 34 now. Wow.

I was wondering why there was a Harry Potter marathon on TV until this was made clear to me that it was 20th anniversary.

Can't believe it's been 20 years. Harry Potter was a big part of my childhood. I still enjoy it. Maybe not to the extent that it was when I was a teenager but still love it.
