Genetically Modified Organism --- GMO

They are doing this to our food and the food our livestock eat, What do you think ?

This is a huge battle.
There are non GMO brand lists.
There are people getting the word out so that others have the best chances to be informed.
The farmers are stuck  in the messy situation.
We are seeing other ways of growing food.
People have power if they use it correctly.

In theory, GMO is good.  Trying to engineer plants so that less herbicide and less insecticide is needed, plants that can grow in less than ideal conditions, etc.

But somewhere along the line profitability/greed overtakes common sense.  So now we have "Roundup Ready" crops where the plant is engineered to be resistant to Roundup.  Farmers would plant this "Roundup Ready" seeds then mass spread Roundup to kill all the weeds.  This is NOT good for the environment, and contribute to the raise of Roundup-resistant weeds.

 "Roundup Ready"   It's a very scary thing because it's also killing our honey bees !

I don't like the idea of GMO food. I buy organic, non-GMO food as much as possible.

I try to buy non-GMO food as much as possible but the list of GMO foods keeps growing, making it harder.  Organic can cost three times and more, compared to non-organic and sometimes organic isn't what it's believed to be.   It gets frustrating never REALLY knowing what exactly I am buying....but common GMO foods I refuse to buy.
