Family reunion

Are you planning a family reunion this year?  I may attend ours, if I can, but I am not doing the planning.

We get together in June with the whole family.  Every year we reserve the shelter house in our hometown city park.  It makes it easy for everyone.  We have shelter if it is rainy; park area and beach for anyone with kids;  lots of space to sit outside in the sun and/or shade for visiting.

Every family unit brings a side dish to share.  We cater the meat.  We split the cost of that.  We always have plenty of food for the noon meal plus supper later when we move out to the family farm.

At the farm, we have been getting the restored John Deere tractors out of Dad's barn.  All the kids and grandkids take turns driving the tractors.

Sounds nice that everything is planned out so well.  It makes it easier when you know what to bring when etc.  It makes it more fun and relaxing (Stressfree) for everyone.

When i was younger my mom's family would have a reunion about every 5 years and i so enjoyed them. There was 11 of them ( one was a half sister)  But now all are dead but the half sister and she was a lot younger. But oh the stories you heard and the times they had.  I have always wished i had used a tape recorder for part of it.

I just learned last year that my family have a family union every year.  Where has the closeness gone?  So that means I haven't been to a Family Union in a number of years.

Yes this year it will be in Atlanta in July.  We have it in different locations every year. I'm not planning it this year but I have hosted it in the past and I'd like to host it again sometime.

We have one every year at the end of July for my paternal grandmother's side of the family.  Sadly, there are fewer and fewer that attend each year.  The ones that are the glue of the family are passing on.
Have a wonderful day!

We have a family reunion in Massachusetts every summer! Usually in August. We typically do a clam bake so that is always a good time! I'm hoping I can go this year- but I'm back at school so it's be hard.
