Most of my closest friends have died, but I recently found a friend that we lost contact with each other years ago, back in my teens. She had moved to TX with her family in the early 60s, and after my family moved, I lost the address. It was about 50 years since I saw her. Thanks to the internet and obit of her husband's brother, found her plus another friend again and we emailing each other every day. :)

About 15 years ago while doing my genealogy, chatted with someone from my town and he knew exactly where my childhood best friend lived (I hadn't seen or heard from him since they moved to NJ back in the '60s. He was like my brother and I missed him dearly. Well, he gave me the email address and whenever they come back to this area, they come for a short visit. The "small world" works well with me because not only is he married to someone formerly of my town whose family also moved to NJ, but she almost grew up with my husband. How cool is that? :)
