I just watch it because its interesting sometimes like a fire started and its near me etc.

I don't watch the news, stopped after 9-11.
It's so biased on being fear based, it's shuffing one inane topic down your throat, while completely ignoring something that truly matters.  Bread and Circuses to entertain the masses.

An example of this would be the focus on not standing during the national anthem; while all but ignoring the violence that is occurring in Chicago.  Chicago with one of the strictest gun laws in the nation...

I am a news addict - love to know what's going on.  The secret is finding the best news station that gives unbiased news.

I agree with beatsdrop, news is mentally taxing. I avoid the news but often hear what is going on from family. Most of the reports do not concern me directly and there is usually nothing I can do about it so I try not to get involved in discussing what is being reported. I get the people want to be heard but force feeding viewpoints is not the way to get heard.
