'I 've had it for years"
« on: July 02, 2016, 06:10:56 am »
there are things in your home or in your closet that you've had for years because of the good quality and workmanship of the product.
Shoes last a few years; sometimes the average life of a shoe is 2 years.
The longest I had a pair of shoes was 5 years.
There are many things that are made very poorly.
The products don't last very long ar all.

very true ---i have a pair of skechers i got after my husband left me and the kids --first thing i bought for myself --in 1999 that i still have and wear occasionally they remind me how far i have come and all i did without him ! those shoes mean the world to me ! silly i know but you would have to know the whole story to understand

lol Ive had the same pair of shoes 18 years! Yes I really do need a new pair but they are so expensive, these probably cost me $18.00 now they are $58.00

I can remember what job I bought them for, and was looking at some paperwork the other day and calculated, 18 years

I usually buy things based on value rather than appeal. I have a pair of boots that I have worn for over seven years and I wear them just about every day. I have to replace the shoe laces every nine months which costs about three dollars and the boots were bought for one hundred and ten dollars (marked down thirty percent for a work affiliation). I had a pair of rayban wayfarers that lasted twenty one years till I got hit by a softball and they broke. I contacted Rayban and they would not provide a replacement for free. I had a pair of Oakley sunglasses that broke and Oakley has replaced them, for free several times. Jeans last about three years and my work suits are about fifteen years old. Computers never seem to last-I usually get a new one every year.

Yes I agree, but I do try and purge my closet every so often. There re some things  that are in  good shape, especially clothes and shoes so I donate every year to Salvation army or Goodwill.

My shoes last forever because I have so many I never wear them out.  Often times I give them to Good Will or the church.
