old way of doing things
« on: June 20, 2016, 06:42:04 am »
advancements continue in our life all the time.
if you don't like the way things are, just wait a while and they will change.
some things can be a complicated process.
I like straight forward directions.
there is always an old way of doing things.

The new way of doing things can be great too. I do prefer air conditioning to  a fan and cruise control sure beats holding the gas pedal in place.

I agree, and don't forget computers.  We wouldn't have Fusion Cash to earn a few bucks if we didn't have computers.   :)

Thank goodness for the invention of elevators! Can you imagine carrying something big and heavy on the stairs to the top floor and back? or if you moving in or out of a place that is only accessible through stairs w/out one? I would be extremely sore the next few weeks!!!

I like a mix. Couldn't live without a cell phone and text, when email became mobile it changed my life as a military spouse. But I sure could do without new math and some current child rearing techniques. And designer drugs, they are scary!

Ahhhhhhh New Math!  It's boggles my mind how someone decided math can be taught differently. Oiy and spelling; my kids rely on spell check for everything  - even worse they just ignore misspelled words. Making money online was impossible 30 years ago.... so I guess not all things are bad.

In some ways the computers have ruined our kids, they no longer know how to read and write cursive.  A lot of them don't even pickup a book and read. Kids in school are so in tuned with their  phones that will not learn a darn thing in school. Never look up when being talked too, disrespectful as all get out. They can't spell at all.  Hubby is a teacher and is so disgusted with the lot of them. Don't get me wrong some are really good students. In fact 3 of the seniors got their associate degree before the got their high school degree as they had been going to school at the  college here in town while going to high school.

Although it's not so new now, I love the whole Windows thing! The whole notion of being able to point and click is so ridiculously simple, and in addition my Laptop is a touchscreen so I don't even have to use a mouse. For that matter, I love being told when I have spelt a word incorrectly and I don't even have to get out of my chair to find the nearest dictionary to get the correct spelling. I can find the nearest Starbucks by talking to my phone, and then my smartphone will even direct me there. How awesome is that!

You are right! "When the new way of doing things do not work, switch to the reliable old ways of doing things".

I tend to be old fashion, however, I do appreciate many of the newer technologies.
