friends for years

friends that we've known for 14 years are moving back north.
there is a family situation that requires them to relocate.
since they are up in age as well and all but one of the children are up there, the decision had to be made.

Hopefully this will be a good move for them and the best situation for them to be in.  I wish them well.

True friends are friends forever, even though you are miles apart, your hearts are still knit together.  Even if it is only once a year, keep in touch.  Military families do it all the time and are richer for it.

The best friends are the ones you keep since gradeschool in my opinion.  I have quite a few of these.
