Amusment parks that are no longer there.

Do you remember amusement parks that you have visited and now closed never to be opened again? Ponderosa Ranch was lively and fun western town, from the Bonanza tv show. We went on  a hiking at an abandon park and I can't remember the name of it, was exciting. Have a gr8 day  :present:

Geauga Lake in Ohio was a great park in its day.  It is pretty eerie to see video of it now overgrown with weeds and only remnants still standing.

Well, the one I used to like is still there, but not the same as it once was.

I used to go a lot out to Old Tucson Studios. In 1995. someone set fire to it, causing a lot of damage. It was closed down for about 3 years while they figured out what to do, rebuild and re-opened.

I went one year during Nightfall and even though I had fund while I was there, it was no where near the same! There were some of the old building still there, but they had changed a lot around.

As far as I know the amusement park I went to when I lived in UT, Lagoon, is still there. They've gotten some flak over the years though because some live animals they kept there died. That was after I stopped going, they must've added them to bring in more customers.

Maybe someone will relocate it and open it once more. If it was abandoned, there is some reason it was never reopened.

I remember as a kid I really wanted to go to Marine Land (similar to Sea World) so badly. Marine Land closed down before I could get a chance to go. :'(

We lost Six Flags Astroworld in 2005. I miss it so much. We're the 4th largest city in the United States without an amusement park.

When we were kids, my Dad would take us to "Palisades Park" in New Jersey.  It was a fun and awesome time for us!  Sadly, it closed in 1971 to "make room for condominiums."  That place was a blast!
