I got a new Samsung HD TV a few months ago and I just love it. The picture quality and sound are both great. LG is supposed to be good too, though. If I were you, I'd select the one that offers the best deal pricewise.

I am sure there are a lot of great brands out there.  I have Vizio TV's in my home.  They work great.
