I agree parties and luncheons can be nice and a lot of fun can be had just meeting and greeting new people.

Maybe I partied too much when I was younger.   These days (in my 60's) I prefer nice quiet nights at home.  Going out with my husband, seeing family.   Really turning into a loner in my senior years.   Sometimes I think it might be a bad thing but I just don't enjoy parties any longer.

I am like you Michele2024. Now a days I just prefer to go to Church, a meal out once in a while or to see my brother and his family. I see my dad every few days and for the rest of the time I like being at home. Doing something or maybe not. Volunteer a lot at Church when they need someone to help out and also am starting to get out a little to do things like judging certain art shows and doing a craft shows once in a while.

i like parties where the snacks to drinks ratio is good. i can care less who shows up to get in the groove.

I don't care much for large parties. Luncheons are nice and i like dinner with friends and family. large groups you get to see a lot of people but can't spend much time with them.

I enjoy going to a friend's place for a dinner party, esp. if the person is a good cook (and I'm lucky to have a friend that even professional chefs have raved over some of her dishes). I don't really like parties at a person's house where there are many people, however. I've had enough of those "kegger" parties in college where there's too many people to move around, the music was so loud that you have to yell to the person you were "talking" to, and the whole point seemed to be about getting drunk. The only time I like large parties anymore is during the summer when there is like a neighborhood BBQ / potluck. At least then it's held outside so it doesn't feel so crowded, and there is usually more to do than just drink.

I like little get togethers. I'm not a fan of huge parties or parties where there will be a lot of people I don't know.
