I took my daughter to Wisconsin for a football weekend, last October, to reward her for good grades and had an absolute ball. I took my son on a hunting trip in the Florida swamps about a year ago and had a great time. At Christmas we drove from Colorado to California which wasn't as fun. Everyone was on edge/grumpy and seemed to have their own agenda. I took off one day last weekend for a sanity break. I just had solid 'me' time.  I went to the library (got a book and some CD's) and then pigged out at a fast food restaurant while I read-uninterrupted. I got home and the family had gone their ways so I was able to enjoy a quiet evening of reading.  Seems like the only uninterrupted reading time happens in the bathroom.

Yes...definitely need to plan for something. My hubby only talks about going to Australia/New Zealand. But nothing is planned.
