play hard - work hard
« on: August 10, 2015, 06:41:58 am »
I know a prep cook who has a young boy.
He was playing in the yard and got a sliver in his foot.
A few weeks later, he was playing with his son and he banged up his knee.
Some people don'y slow down after work or on their days off.

I played hard in High School and College but always worked hard (usually had at least three jobs going). Now I just work hard at two jobs and have been averaging about sixteen to eighteen hours a day while my family plays hard: daughter in college, son in private school and a wife who likes to travel and play tennis (she is a really hard worker too). It is kind of difficult for me to understand people who are satisfied with the income from just one job. I have had to adjust my ways a little bit because taxes are killing me.  I have started putting more into retirement and started taking on more cash jobs. My kids seem to be taking after me as well. My son and daughter have found jobs for ten hours a week that allow them to study during work as well. I always tell them that grades come first.

its funny because a schoolmate of mine once told me the same thing, "to play hard but work hard" and i was just thinking about it
