I know I did the right thing but it was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my whole career. How I feel and what I feel are two different things right now. I am numb, I am mortified, I am dumbfounded but knowing I had the duty of reporting her was truly the best thing or I could have lost my job as well. UPDATE: She was TERMINATED! I feel sick about it but it's something we cannot tolerate once you take an oath as a judiciary employee.

You did the right thing. She made her bed, now she has to sleep in it. And if it ever comes down to her pointing the finger at you, just deny it and ask her to prove that it was you. I bet she wouldn't be able to!

You're not wrong. Don't be afraid to play by the book especially in your field. It's not for everyone. I personally couldn't do it. I probably wouldn't have said anything unless the crime was serious. See but that's why you have that job and I don't...and your coworker doesn't either lol. Maybe she'll find something more suitable for her now.
