advantages

some people see things as advantageous and others can see the same thing as a disadvantage
my neighbor commented that it was a nuisance to have the maintenance office nearby.
I see that as an advantage in case something goes wrong.

Agreed!

Not sure why having maintenance office nearby is a nuisance...?

The only reason I can think of that somebody would not want the Maintenance Office nearby is if they were up to no good and they didn't want Maintenance to see! 99% of me feels it would be good to have Maintenance nearby.

I live in a rural area. A couple of years ago, a Dollar General store was built a few miles up the road-very, very convenient to not have to go all the way into town. But, some people found a reason to complain and protest it saying it wasn't necessary out here! I was happy to see a store I shop at regularly built close by and saving me tons of gas $$.

I think this is similar to the pessimist vs. optimist situation... Some people see things positively while others see things negatively.

Personally, I am a realist and see things as they are; things just seem to be bad, lol.

some people's "advantages" are other people's "disadvantages"!   Just like the saying.. "One man's trash is another man's treasure!"

Many years ago I lived next door to Maintenance, I saw it as an advantage.  Anytime something went wrong in my apartment all I had to do was go next door and report it.  This worked well for me.  ;)

I think it all depends on what the thing or place or whatever is. Some can be annoying while others are not.
