1st day of school.
« on: August 05, 2015, 09:31:27 am »
Today was the first day of school for my kids here in Georgia. One goes to middle school and the other in elementary. They were anxious to start back and got up with hardly any struggle. When do your kids or grandkids start back?

My grand daughter goes to kindergarten Aug 24th -   I remember being in school in the 70's I loved summers, we would stay outside and play all day. These kids now want to stay in all day. :in-love:

My daughter is going into 4th grade. She doesn't go back until the 17th. For the first time she isn't really excited about it.

My granddaughter was just born 4 months ago, so she won't be starting school for another 5 years or so. But when she does in her school system the first day is the Wednesday after Labor Day.

Wow, you guys start early in the South. I guess the kids let out around May? My son goes back September 3rd. We had a long winter and there were a lot of snow days, so the earliest they did is the 3rd. Usually the kids go back after Labor day, like the 8th or 9th of September.

My daughter moves into her dormitory on the eighteenth-first year in college (I am so going to miss her!). My son starts his junior year in high school on the nineteenth and my daughter's official first day of school/classes is on the twenty fourth-did I mention that I am going to miss her?!? I am jammed at work so I will only be able to spend a few more days with the kids before they are back in to their busy routines. They were in Arizona visiting their grand parents last weekend and my wife and I had time to catch up on things and even had a few date nights! My night time job was slow for the first time in months right as soon as the kids left town. And then another project came in just as they got back-wouldn't you know it!

My kids get out of school before Memorial Day - reason why they go back to school so early. I do remember starting school after Labor Day. Summer Breaks seem to go by so quickly here in Georgia.
