Our garbage is outside in a big bin and the trash guy comes once a week to pick up the trash.

Both cans should be clearly labeled and since this is an apartment  complex, all tenants should get a paper as to what items are recyclable, because some people may not know still.

I agree with that statement, garbage is nothing but very smelly and all kinds of bad smells at that, it definitely belongs outside of the house.

I cannot stand the smell of stinky garbage.  Mine is picked up weekly and recycle bi-weekly.

I don't like smelly garbage, so I took it out every 3 or 4 days depending how full the garbage can is. And I put something smells good inside the trash can.

i agree!  When it gets too smelly, I double bag it to avoid attracting animals.

we have both regular garbage and recycled trash in our apartment building.
both can be smelly and both can get mixed up.
there is only one best place for garbage  - outside.

Yes. Outside is best, but what about the animals. Who wants a skunk wandering around.  It has much more stink than garbage. When I lived in the country, I kept my garbage in a old bathtub. I would carry it out to the burn pile when the bags added up to about 6-10. The location of the bathtub was a long distance from my front door. But I could still smell when a skunk was around.
