computer ads
« on: May 14, 2015, 07:38:40 am »
can be annoying. Some of them mare directed to you based on your shopping habits.
If I want to buy something, I will. I am not lured by advertising.
When I was young, it was fun to sing along with the commercials on TV.

I don't pay attention to the ads and I certainly don't click on them.  If I want to know something or buy something I go directly to the website.  I don't click on an ad that may or may not be the real deal.

I don't know if I've ever bought anything from a computer ad or not....  I usually look at them to see what they are about.  I know I've clicked on some to learn more.  (I've always liked commercials too, lol).

I think it's not so much that I like to "be sold to", but rather I'm always interested in knowing what's out there....

I'm so tired of being spammed everywhere I go (email, snail mail, TV, internet), I just use Ad Block Plus on my Firefox and don't see any ads, which suits me just fine.

I don't like ads either, they are quite annoying when you are not interested in anything. But if it is something like a sale or something I will click on it.

Sure they can be annoying at times, especially when they are overdone.  But a of times that is what keeps a site free.  Necessary evil at times.

I sometimes ignore ads and some I take heed on. However, I get annoyed if the ads are invasive, especially as never getting out of the way or tricking you into clicking when you're not intending to. I feel violated when this happens.

I usually completely ignore computer ads. They are so annoying. I certainly do not buy anything as a result of them. I have even paid a fee not to get ads, which you can do in Words with Friends for example.

I use Adblock to block all the computer ads... Easy to customize to whitelist/blacklist sites.. Allowing only entertainment sites like Youtube and Twitch to receive ad revenue while sketchy sites will get automatically blocked

I might pay attention a little more to ads online if it wasn't for so many clustered together. The worst are the ones that turn as pops ups that I feel violated. I think I might pay attention if it wasn't so busy. I am not as annoyed as others about targeted ads.
