have you heard of Ibotta savings app
« on: May 21, 2015, 03:25:34 pm »
this is an app you put on your apple or android phone and use it when shopping to save money.I think its like a coupon to use along with paper ones.I like the idea especially when i read someone got a 2.00 rebate put into their paypal acccount.I read more about it on about.com.You use the app to scan your reciept and then the money is put into paypakl sounds good,i don't have a smartphone though but my son does umm.

I've heard a lot of good things about this app, although I personally haven't tried it. But I did mention it to my GF when an ad for it popped up on a game I was playing. I'm seriously thinking of installing it and trying it out. I have used a similar app called SavingStar... With SS, you have to go through a listing of different offers they have available before you go shopping, and then use a store's loyalty card when shopping in order for the app to determine that you made the correct purchase to complete the offer. Although this too worked well, I didn't like having to go thorugh the offers ahead of time; it seemed more like searching for coupons before shopping, whereas from what I understand Ibotta does the looking-up for you so you only need to enter in your receipt.

I have the app. Love it . Some stores all you have to do is enter your loyalty card and if you sign up for an offer and purchase it the amount is credited to your account.Unfortunately not my grocery store is not 1 of them so I end in a picture of the receipt.

I have been using it for a while but a lot of the stuff that is on there is not stuff I would buy. I have not earned enough to do a cash out yet, but supposedly I have facebook friends that have.

I have it and love it. I have already cashed out close to $75. The trick is to have referrals on your "team" in order to receive bonuses.

Someone mentioned SavingStar. It's very similar. It's the first one I used and still do. It does take some preparation in knowing what is available but worth it in the end.

I have a coupons app, but I never heard of Ibotta. Based on other people's reviews, I am not too enthusiastic to install, but I might reconsider if I cannot find my savings discounts elsewhere.

This app sounds like something I would like to try.  Anytime I can save money I'm all ears.  ;)
