You can never go wrong with fresh fruit and vegetables as snacks.  Carrot sticks with a little of low fat ranch dressing is good.  Also apples are good.  Bananas are good, but should be limited because they have natural sugars.

I think the best healthy foods is veggies, fruits, Yogurts, some cheese slices, and there are some chicken meat that are cut and they come in a bag to snack on. They are tasty. Have her drink water or tea.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are great.  Foods that are high in fiber and whole grains are excellent.  Fish is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids as well.

Fresh produce.  Try to stay away from packaged foods if you can.  Always shop the perimeter of the store.

I would start with a colorful range of fruit and vegetables. I would add honey and granola, avacados, hummus, cheese, lean meat (skinless chicken, fat free ham etc) and wholegrain bread, brown rice etc. It can be tricky to pick healthy foods because marketing strategies are such that fancy packaging and sales gimmicks make it difficult to see the wood for the trees. I would try to pick things with less than five ingredients and I would definitely stay away from artificial colorings.

I think it is safe to say that anything that is fresh and on the outside isle of the grocery store will be healthy dont by anything kept in a box or a can.
