Yes, I have been watching her and the issue of dying with dignity when you are diagnosed with an incurable disease.  The last I heard she may change her mind about today, 11/1, and move it according to her symptoms.  I hope she does stay alive as long as she feels her quality of life is worthwhile.  I believe this is an individual decision.  No one can put themselves in your shoes...your body, your mind, your emotions, and understand and FEEL what is going on in that body and mind.  When the death may be prolonged and undignified, it is each person's decision how they will meet their maker and make peace with their idea of God and spirituality.  My support and philosophy is: I die according to my beliefs, not yours or anyone else's.

The Lord will let me know when it is my time to go.  I trust in His wisdom.
Have a wonderful day!

I live in Oregon.  I think she is feeling better and has decided to extend her life.  Religiously I do not believe in suicide for me...but I don't know...I love that Brittany or anyone with a terminal disease has a choice.  I always thought Korvorkian was doing interesting work...this is much better and regulated.  I always say Oregon is a kind to people state.

I think it's more about quality of life than quantity. Is it really worth staying alive a little longer when know you're going to die anyway and are going to have a horrible quality of life until you do.

I think it's a little "odd" that "assisted suicide" needs a spokesperson.

I just saw an interview yesterday and she said she was putting it off.  I guess she changed her mind.  People have been committing suicide since time began why need a law about and why shout it to the world.  I totally understand her reasons.  I don't think she had to go on national Tv about it.  That should be between her and her loved ones.

I agree. Quality over quantity.

I just saw on TV that she did end her life on Saturday.  I'm sure it is a very difficult decision, but according to her videos, she is in constant pain, swelling in her body, and sadly there is no help.  In that case I think it is up to the individual to decide, not the government.

I'm aghast.  Honestly I'm not surprised a story like this has erupted.  I feel bad for the gal...as thousands of others who have been deadly diagnosed.  A grim future for all if you've not developed a relationship with the Lord.  I'm a Christian and although hard (and I'm not always willing) I feel trusting God's plan is only way to go.

Although Brittany had scheduled her homegoing on November 1st, she changed her mind.  I don't think she was finished with what she wanted to do.  I do believe that God was guiding her and giving her peace of mind as to "say, ok It's now time".  This is called doing it her way.  Blessings and prayers to having the strength to carry thru with her plans.

It certainly is a personal decision.  I have often thought how lucky our beloved pets are, they are treated with dignity and suffering is not needlessly prolonged.
