About time
« on: September 24, 2014, 01:56:48 pm »
It took him a little longer than a year to get all the paper work done to get out of his ten or more years service.  Why should it take so long?  It doesn't take that long to sign up.  Any way he is finally out of the service.  Don't know what he is going to do for a job now.  I am happy that he is out.  He has done four tours total.  What a life, he is just thirty years old now.

Who is he?  What branch? I'm not surprised the military takes so long to do paperwork, my ex was in the Air Force, my dad was in the Army..

Doesn't the military finance your college education if you choose after you get out of service?   If so, that would be the way to go if he hasn't completed his education already.

I thank him for his service!  I have military in my family, one is retired after 30 years of service & is living off his $72,000 a year retirement pension from the military.   It's a great career, although a dangerous one.

Whoever he is: Thanks for the service and fighting for my freedom.
I have a close friend in Germany right now awaiting orders, and I am a nervous wreck. I cannot begin to imagine 10 years of worrying (although I'm sure I'll find out). Finishing education is a great route to go!
