Were you ever nervous when presenting to the entire class?

When I was in grade school, this was the most terrifying thing in the world. My hands and head shook uncontrollably and my voice sounded like I was talking from inside a closet because I didn't want to be heard.

I think I"m kinda over the fear of public speaking now - at least I don't fall apart like I used to.

Talking in front of a class or any group was a nightmare for me as I was very shy and easily tripped over my words when speaking.  It was only in college that I learned the beauty of using visual aids during a speech.  The posters, objects, slides, (whatever...) directed the attention away from me and toward the visual aid.  It also helped me organize my thoughts and reminded me of what I wanted to say.

If I could give one piece of educational advice to young students, I would tell them to learn to embrace public speaking, for to those who do, an entire world of possibilities opens up that is unavailable to those who do not.

All the time. Every time. I dreaded having to do projects where they would be presented to the class. I also hated writing assignments that had to be read to the class. Anything that required being in front of the class, with everyone staring at me..... NOOOOPPPEE. Hated these things.

i never liked presenting my projects to the class. i had a partner on a project and i dont think he wanted to do it with me because he said he would do it and he would put my name on it. he never presented it and i got an f in the class.
