Can anybody tell me how to preserve my fruit trees from the frost.Every year I loose my plums from the frost how can I prevent this?

Are your trees "made" for your area of the country? There are different zones and different "types" of the same fruit trees for every zone.

We never had a problem with ours surviving the winters, even the harshest, but lost them to blight or a beetle infestation.

when you know its going to frost do you cover with a sheet or something??i dont have alot of fruit trees but the couple i have i just cover them and they have done alright

Cover your young fruit tree with a clear plastic tarp if you are expecting a hard freeze. This will protect it from winter winds and allow sunlight to penetrate the covering. Be sure to remove the protective covering during daylight hours when the temperature rises above 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

make sure that they are rated for your zone if they are not there is no way to save them  because no matter what you do short of bringing them inside or into a green house will save them.  however if they are rated for your area when you are expecting a frost cover with a blanket make sure that you uncover them during the day or the heat from the sun will become trapped under the blanket and can kill them as well.

I am renting, but when I had a home, I had fruit trees and maybe in TN we didn't have frosts so I can't help you...
