I've only felt one earthquake in my life, back in 2011 which was pretty minor but still scary. I can only imagine what a huge earthquake feels like.

We had one a few years ago in Illinois and it was pretty scary.

We're on the New Madrid fault line here. It was in the morning right before I got out of bed.

I wondered for a few seconds what it was, figured out that it was an earthquake, and then thought, what the heck should I do?  ??? It was over in a couple of minutes and everyone talked about it at work that day.

The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago.  I live in North Carolina close to the Virginia border.  There was an earthquake and it shook my house.  This was the same earthquake that damaged a memorial in Washington.

we didn't feel it in NC, and I'm only 30 miles from it.  my sister lives in Pageland, she said she felt it and the aftershock.

I live in California and we earthquakes from time to time. It's a very un-nerving feeling to say the least.  :sad1:
