I got a time out!

My infamous 2 year old has started really understanding that his actions have consequences.  We are implemented a time out corner -- with a no toy, no tv rule.    It works like a charm with him and he has caught on very well to the idea/concept of the time out

Well.... last night while I was watching the news and catching up with my daily newspaper column he wanted my attention.  He wanted me to drop everything and help him attend to his toy.  I asked him (politely) to wait until Mommy was finished reading what I was reading and he was UPSET that I didn't listen to him and act on his request immediately.

he proceeded to grab my hand and pull me (as if he could remove me from the couch) and tell me that I needed to go in the corner -- "MOMMY TIME OUT" is what I heard him utter.  Oh he thought I would sit calmly in the corner and he was going to teach me a lesson.   

It didn't work that time, but then I got to thinking -- maybe I should get myself in trouble more often to have some peace and quiet!

maybe that would have helps - but may not have made much of a difference!
