regular eye doctor visit
« on: July 14, 2009, 08:22:39 am »
I found out recently that I have an eye disease. It is called histioplasmosis.  It is caused from some type of bird and chicken dropings that gets bacteria in the air.  It effects the lungs and the eyes.  There is no permanant damge to to the lungs but the vision is seriously impaired.  I have scars on my right eye, there is no hope for that eye.  but, my left eye just recently started a few weeks ago, and is is fresh bleeding but no scars yet.  I take a shot in my eyes that is given to chemotherapy patients.  I have a treatment every 5 weeks.  The medicine is working for now in my left eye but the doctor said that the blood will eventually return because there is no permanant cure.  PLEASE< EVERYONE GET YOUR EYES EXAMINED AT A REGULAR TIME EACH YEAR>  save your eyesight :crybaby2:

How did you get it?  Are you around chickens?  Is that where it comes from?

Wow!!! I'm so sorry to hear that.  I googled it and it seems to be caused by being around animal feces, especially cats and dogs.  Usually kids get it I think from being touching a litter box and then rubbing their eyes.  I'm still doing research on it.

Oh my! That really sucks just to loose your vision like that! Now I know what to watch out for though!

I am really sorry to hear about your eyes.  I will keep you on my prayer list.  Lets look on the bright side a little.  You are still here to tell us about it.  You are in infomer now.  Thank you for that.  Keep up your spirits.

Prayers to you for the situation that you are going through,  I will also keep you in my thoughts and prayers, sometimes things happen for a reason like that of which we do not understand and we have to roll with the situations, try to make the best of it and keep positive, I know it is hard but try.
