A great many kids of today are disciplined less, get away with much, and are very disrespectful to much of authority, including parents, relatives, teachers, neighbors, cops, etc. Some aren't afraid of discipline or punishment.
I agree. Probably because these people suck at disciplining and punishing. I don't blame the kids. I blame crappy parents and crooked cops mostly. And lawyers.
There are stronger clashes between Christians, nonbelievers, atheists, other faiths, and groups, such as Westboro, and Freedom From Religion, etc. Instead of choosing to live how each desires or believes, it seems more and more that people are being challenged, forced, and chided, for their beliefs/non-beliefs.
It's mainly due to Christianity losing a foothold in popularity-- there's no longer a dominant/over-popular belief system in this country to dominate and keep people on a narrow path of thinking. You're going to see a lot of (verbal or physical) violent clashes started by religious groups focused on a desperate attempt to reclaim the 'good ol' days' when homosexuality was a sin and women didn't leave the kitchen.
Attitudes, in general, are not as respectful and kind - as someone else in here said, patience is lacking with many. The "all about me" attitude is showing with many. Some seem to forget that their views/thoughts are not the only correct views - there is a lack of acceptance that others do not always share their same views and thoughts.
I dunno...the internet is full of opinions that say the opposite. I mean one thing I enjoy doing after reading a news article is reading the user comments. Granted there's a lot of jerks out there, the debates in the comments sometimes have more insight than the article itself! I think we all suffer from too much information being shoved at us sometimes, and we feel the need to be ontop of it all, so we lose patience by doing that. In return, we're a lot more educated than we were in the past. As my friend put it- "It's really hard to BS someone nowadays. Our BS-detectors are fine-tuned."
In the area of income, many people are not receiving raises with salaries, yet are being made to pay more to so many things - such as this healthcare issue, food, gas, taxes, and so much more. So many are already scraping by. This healthcare issue is causing concern for many who cannot afford the higher payments coming.
There's too much complaining about the healthcare issue. I just redid my healthcare plan and I'm saving 30$/mo ($220 to $190) and getting practically the same plan as I was getting before. I understand the whole company-laying-people-off or cutting hours part of it, but these individuals complaining about it that don't have health insurance (and especially those who rack up healthcare bills and don't pay for them) are a major focal point on why this had to be done in the first place.
