My cousin in Dubai

My cousin loves to post pictures of the nike shoes (jordan, kobe, lebron james) shoes for her relatives on facebook and then tag them.

Really?

She may be my cousin and stuff, but really? That's like showing off isn't it?

My cousin gets pissed off whenever she does it and untags himself because he doesn't feel the need to let everyone know.

The prices in Dubai is 3 times compared to the US.

I don't know. To me, I think my cousin has a point. If you're gonna send something to your relatives, I think its best if they know about it without having to show it off to the world.

What do you guys think?

If I were to do that and my dad's side of the family sees that, it'll start getting crazy with "Where's mine?" or "Is that mine?" "No, that's mine!" or "I don't want that! I want this!" Hectic!!!!

It's safe, but very extreme financially - there is the very rich, the very poor, and not a lot in between.

I'm fascinated by Dubai. Over on Bubblews there is a British high school student living in Dubai with his family, who blogs about life there. It's very interesting to read his posts, the good and the bad.

Going back to the OP, I don't understand what the problem is.  Is she buying these items for her family members and then tagging them, or is she using Facebook as sort of a "wish list" and saying, "these are the things I want"?  Either way it's a little odd, but if she's just a kid I'd cut her some slack. If she's an adult though, that's a little weird.

I don't really think it is showing off although I do think it's stupid.  But it is the world we live in.  People put everything on facebook.  I have a facebook account with very few friends.  Mostly it is to talk to people who live in other parts of the country.  And I don't really talk to them. lol.  Lately I don't post too much.   I don't agree with most of my family and friends so they don't talk to me much. lol

Is your cousin actually posting the photos herself, or, was her password hacked?  Facebook is notorious for those sneaker ads and they're well-known SPAM ads.  When your account gets hacked, the hacker now has control over that account and spams your friends/family with those ads.
