You can wash your hair everyday but wash in the sink easier and faster. use a good oil control shampoo.

I too have oily hair.  It's been that way since I hit puberty, but it got a little bit better as I got older.  I wear it very long and would be quite insulted if someone told me to cut it.  I also disagree with doing it in the sink, unless you have a short cut, because with long hair it is not easier.  I can testify that the vinegar works for dry scalp issues, but using it on my scalp, before shampooing, doesn't eliminate the oil.  When I was a kid I did go weeks between shampoos (don't ask) and it did not help.  In fact I blame that for damaging my scalp.  I think your best bet is to go to a natural product store to find a product for your hair type, accept the frequent shampooing and hope it gets drier with time.

Thanks so much CharmedPhoenix!!! I totally agree with you I would not want to cut my hair off I look horrible with short hair and want long hair and that wouldnt solve the problem I dont think my hair is greasy from the top not bottom!!! I also do not think I would use the sink to wash my hair it seems weird!! I do not think I will use the vinegar because my scalp is not dry its oily. I will try to just research a good shampoo for oily hair and see what happens from there...
