I think that they have fallen prey to competition-at least in Colorado. I have seen two Hooter's restaurants close and watched a Tilted Kilt and two Twin Peaks open up.  I love the wings at Hooters...not too wild about the food in the other places.  It is a good place to watch sports regardless of what the girls are wearing. I do see lots of testosterone driven young men and lecherous older men there but I suppose that if that is what they are there to see they would be going to strip bars instead to satisfy their itch.  Strip bars are far more demeaning so I guess places like hooters allow a little dignity to be preserved.

I've never been there and don't know about any decline. I have no problem with restaurants like that though. The women there are adults and it's their choice to be there. With that said though, it may be awkward for some to go there and for others, the novelty just wears off. If there is an actual decline, I'd probably say it's because of the newness being gone and they may have more competition now.

The one out in my area is in a not so busy location. Out of all the places to put a restaurant, I think they put it in bad spot. It'll be interesting if they're still there several more months from now.

I live in Florida and have noticed no decline.  They still go strong around here but then again we are a tourist state.  There is a difference in how the women are between Dayton, OH and Florida.  Not to knock the women of Ohio, just saying.  Plus most states here in America are in a down economy.

I haven't noticed any closings here but have noticed a more competitive environment - Buffalo wild wings, wingstop and wingboss popping up all over the place.  Buffalo wild wings seem to have more families eating there and the other two have a constant flow of carry out orders.

I do imagine that in Florida and other tourist areas there would not a be decline.  There have been a lot of new restaurants where I live, including direct competitors -- Buffalo Wild Wings and Quaker Steak and Lube.  There have been a couple times where I have been the only customer at my local Hooters for some time -- say 30+ mintues.

I've only been to a Hooters a handful of times, but there isn't anything outrageous about them. The girls there are cute, but at least the times I've been there they don't really socialize as much as any other establishment and since my area is on the cooler side they do bundle up sometimes, so it defeats the purpose. I accompany my cousin once in awhile as he likes their chicken.

Has anyone else noticed that the Hooters Resturant Chain is not doing as well as it once was.  I know that they are done to only 4 or 5 restaurants in Wisconsin and I know other restaurants in Minnesota, Illinois and Texas have closed as well.

Seems that the Hooters girls no longer sit at your table and socialize with you much any more and the turnover seem very high and the menu has not changed much.
I never thought as them as a very "good" business anyways.  So all is well that ends well

Went to Hooter's one time many years ago and swore I will never go back. Not fond of the food nor the atmosphere.
