How do you cut a 4 year old's hair when he throws a fit?

If there are any moms out there that any suggestions on cutting my 4 year olds hair please help.    I cannot get him to let me cut his hair.  He didn't get a think head of hair until he was about 18 months old, so we were late cutting his hair because he didn't need it cut.  Including his first hair cut, I cannot just sit down or take him to anyone without him throwing a MAJOR fit.  I have to cut his hair in his sleep.  Anyone have any suggestions to make this easier?

give him candy, assure him its ok, tell him hell look like his super hero, hell get treats and stuff like that...............it worked on me and all my siblings (3 other)

My son did the same thing (he is 8 now and doesn't do that nay more). I had to tell him he was not acting like a big boy and that all big boys get their hair cut. And as the last poster said bribes work as well !

hey i hav a 4yr old and when i get ready to cut hes hair we make a game ot of it. thank of a game that he will like to do and c if that works. it work with my 4yr old

Explain to him how hondsome he will be after the haircut, get your hair cut too. Encourage him.
