Count down for school to start

I have 10 days before school starts for my kids and I am going crazy already day camp ended and there so much you can do with them.......raahhhhhh

I am one of the crazy moms that love having the kids home.  We cook together, they help do minor maintenance around the house.   They especially like when we paint or do projects in their rooms.  We have movie days, librairy days, get our jobs done and go to get ice cream days.  We always find something.    I also frequently have 1 extra kid for each of my kids!

Wow, how many kids do you have? I have 5 kids in 6 years so it gets crazy but I do enjoy them too but they are so bored.

Your school starts a lot later than they do around here.  The neighboring county's school went back August 1st.  Our kids miss so much school because of the weather during the winter months so they start back early.  We missed 31 straight school days when I was a junior in high school.  We had to go on Saturdays to make up the days (or was suppose to - most of us used them as skip days)!

Our schools also go back in ten days (We are in Michigan) I am torn, I hate having a schedule, but my daughter loves school. So I guess it is time to go back. I was always ready when I have all three kids I school, but now only one left still at home, so it is different these days.

I am retired and not looking forward to the kids going back to school.
In the summertime, I feel free to go out running for exercise at any time of day,
but when kids are in school, I have to watch out for crossing guards and school
traffic as I live right next to school property, which restricts the times I can come
and go easily as I please.

School has started here in Florida already. Thank God the kids will have a constructive place to go. Let's pray we don't have any tragedies at all, in any of our schools.

In my school district, school started August 2 and ends at the end of May. That sounds long, but there's a 2 week fall, winter and spring break.

I think that's the best way to go about it because counting down really doesn't speed up anything anyway. I like having my kids around and having a simple life- my kids aren't signed up for anything over the summer, so it's a more simple lifestyle that I don't really want to give up.
