People who talk and text on the road

So many people out there who think they can text and drive but all they do it cause so many inconveniences for other drivers. Don't pay attention and become inattentive to there driving. Also it's very dangerous habit.

I used to work part time for a control freak doing some hot shot courier work where every seconed counted on the weekends.  He would call me just to check on where I was at and how soon I would make the delivery etc.  Until he found out that every time he called I was pulling over and stopping.  He asked me why and I told him that I did not feel safe talking and driving because driving took all my attention.

It is illegal to text and drive in my state.  Our neighboring state (WV) has now outlawed talking on a cellphone while driving.  You can use the hands free/speakerphone but don't get caught dialing!!  I do think most people who are talking on the cellphone and driving are a hazard to the other drivers.  They get too distracted.

On the way the work this morning, I passed someone on a bicycle, someone in the car next to me and someone walking-all texting. All put me at risk when they're not 100% focused on what they're doing. The commercials don't seem to sink in.

Phone talkers while driving doesn't aggregate me if people are using a blue tooth.  Fiddling with a phone to dial or the blue tooth set to me is as distracting as reaching to change radio station or cd.  I used to have a blue tooth ... I bought it to use during long car rides.  When my long drives ceased so did my need for using it.  Texting on the other hand I find absolutely absurd.  There is nothing that is so important that waiting or pulling over.  Right now in Illinois if a cop see's you using a phone in a construction zone you get a ticket.
