i do all of cooking from scratch but also do a lot of packaged food to i like cooking so that why i do

Cooking from scratch that way I know exactly what's in the food I'm feeding myself and my family.  Packaged foods have a lot of preservatives and unnecessary, what I like to call, "poisons" that we don't need to eat.

I cook from scratch. It is healthier if you control what you add especially sodium and fats. Plus  it taste better. If you plan
properly you can make or make ahead some very easy meals for busy days.

I have cooked from scratch and still do on some things.  Sometimes its just easier and faster to open a box or buy something that is already made.

I do cook from scratch sometimes, depending on the difficultly and/or the amount of time required. Sometimes I just don't have time to cook everything from scratch.

Yeah that seems to be the general problem with most people. Time and lack of energy after a long day of work.

Since my kids have gotten so expensive I took some time to analyze our expenses and found that we were spending exorbitant amounts of money on going out to eat.  I put the kibosh on that back in April and have managed to cut our expenses by thirteen hundred dollars per month! I now plan out our meals at least two weeks in advance (when I have a slow down on my second job), do the grocery shopping every Sunday morning(only one trip per week) at Krogers and Costco. Make Wednesdays Casserole on Sunday and have all of the, from scratch meals, planned out for the week. Pre packaged dinners are so much more expensive and I have a certain amount of serenity that overtakes me when I am cooking.

I am a chef so all of my cooking is from scratch. I don't like the taste of pre-packaged "food".
