Day 1 of my Internship
« on: June 24, 2013, 04:54:36 pm »

. . ..

It's Official.

I don't want to spend the rest of my life working in an office where I'm stuck in a room all day.

Even though all I do is file paper work which is easy..

It feels soooo loooooong!

:) I definitely want to be working outdoors or where I can communicate with multiple people.

Sounds like you know what you want. Although I don't know if I would say the first day of an internship is a good sample of what you would be doing in the office the rest of your life. I work in an office and my days fly by so much so that I can't get everything done in an 8 hour day.

Give it a few more days! The first day of my internship I felt the same way. After they start giving you more challenging tasks you might change your mind. Good luck!

Yes. I regret my office job. Days can be long and draining, but I still do not feel I accomplish enough throughout the day as there is so much to do. I'm sometimes admire and maybe a bit envious of people who mention about doing their "dream job." I wonder when down the line I gave that up.

Day 2.

I'm so frustrated with the filing because both days now things have been out of place.

-___-

I had to sit for about 45 minutes to look for a file going to each and every file because it had been
misplaced.

While looking at it as being boring, look at the glass being half full. You have an internship, which means you are gaining experience.  You know what you want to do; it is up to you to choose a career outside or inside.  Personally, I formerly worked as a Clerk for a not-for-profit Social Service agency, which was an office setting.  I prefer to be in an office than outside.

i have no experience with office jobs but you do!
stick it out to see the bright sides of it, but if it really doesn't work out for you, oh well

Give it some time- it's experience and that's good to have on resumes!
Good luck!

If you are just filing stuff, it sounds like you just have a boring job. Not sure I would stereotype all office jobs based on a job that they give to an intern because no one wants to do it.

Interns get the job that no one in the office is willing to do, or the most boring job. So, just hang in there .
