Help

What would you do if a person walked up to you and said they were hungry would you give them the money or would you purchase the food yourself for them?

I would purchase the food for them.  There are too many scam artists out there that use that money for another bottle of liquor or drugs.  If they're truly hungry, they would accept the offering of food.  My son did this for someone who claimed they were hungry.  When he came back with a bag of food for this person that he purchased at the nearest fast food restaurant, the guy nearly threw it at him, so he basically told him where to go and took the food back.  Don't give up your money.  It's a scarce thing these days.

I would rather purchase the food for them as well.

I remember a few years ago, outside of where I taught (Private Christian School) this man came up to one of the administrators wanting money for shoes.  He had on a pair of very worn out shoes.  He was told that the church had a room set up with clothes, shoes, etc., and he could pick out any pair of shoes he needed.  He went on and on about the money, and the administrator said he was welcome to choose a pair of shoes.  The guy actually walked off, mad.  He was known in the area as one who drank heavily, and that's why he kept pushing for the money.

If someone is hungry, they'll be glad for the food. If they're scamming, then food won't really be welcome.

I've fed a few people in my time, mostly neighbors who come to my door because they know I'll share whatever I have.

I will not purchase any food from stranger.  There are a lot of things going on that you will not imagine.

I would buy the food, since I would suspect money would be spend on other things.
