Can't answer the question regarding respect for privacy and personal space because not only have I never seen the movie but couldn't recall even hearing about it.  however, once I read your post I went and watched a trailer and it looks really funny and endearing.  I think I'll see if its available on netflix.

The name sounds familiar but I do not believe that I have ever seen this movie.  I may read about it to see when it came out and if it looks good, perhaps I will check it out.
