let them wonder

when you've  explained something you're going to do and people still don't understand why you're doing it.
You could explain your reasoning and people still might not understand.
Maybe it's better and easier NOT to explain.

what prompted this?
I told some family members about a decision I made and I got two different reactions.
It is interesting sometimes how many DIFFERENT reactions you get to the same situation.

I am getting ready to turn 42 and my son is going to be 22 but my parents forget that I am a grown women and still try to punish me.  My step dad got in my face because I was talking to my real dad and step sister on face book and I just told him off come to find out it was my mother that was having a problem with it because she yelled at him about it.  I have not seen my biological father in over 22 years so if I see that he is on I just say hello I don't get in to deep conversations with him he isn't really interested in all that.  They have no reason for being jealous.  I want them to respect me for who I am and stop all the drama.  I am just as sick as my mother maybe even a little more I don't need this in my life I need encouragement and understanding. (James real father) has had several surgeries as did my mother I was there for her not him but if he died or something I want him to know I forgive him and love him. (Bruce step father) I call him dad he raised me and helped my mother out anyone can father a child but it takes someone special to be a dad.  Do you guys understand what I am trying to say? I love them both but in different ways.  Father gave me life and dad taught me about life.
