I see my chair that I sit in every morning to have my smoke and coffee. Then I see my yard that I work on every other day to grow grass. Keep in mind, the entire time I am watching the ground to make sure ants aren't crawling everywhere ( I *bleep* Hate Those little Creatures!) I also see our broke-down jeep wrangler, which usually has our cat jumping out of it to come and get her food-food! I look up at the sky and check out the weather, hoping for rain,(which never comes). Usually I catch my neighbors moving about and wave good morning as they leave for work or take their kids to school. Then, I just sit back and chill with my coffee and finish my cigarette enjoying the morning ritual that the birds have.
First, the Doves come out and sit at the top of the trees in our yard waiting for the sun to rise and warm them up. They look like little puff *bleep* of feathers, all hunched over because of the cool of the morning. Then, they make their little quiet calls to one another, every once in a while, you will see a little baby one huddled up close to its parents. Cuteness!
There are also mocking birds (which sings quite amazingly) that liker to hang out on the juniper bush quite a bit, but its usually just one. One REALLY HAPPY ONE! Every single bird sound that I have heard this creature make is almost perfectly replicated, just a little variance here and there. He/She usually just flies from a tree across the way, singing, and stays for a while, like it really wants me to listen to its song-kind of weird, but I appreciate it.
We have grackles, and its springtime- Medium sized birds with black irredescant feathers and attitude. I usually have to shoe them off my porch because they eat my kitty kat's food! Crazy displays of dominance from these creatures. The sounds they make are amazing, and they usually flock 3 or 4 at a time claiming their spot on the ground to quart females. There is one older male grackle I observed who lost his leg last spring still around...No females, but He's still kicking!(lol)
Then, the Bluejays wake up and start squacking at one another from tree to tree. I guess its Their morning ritual, a loud one that echoes across my neighborhood at the same time everyday. Usually, they spot kitty kat in the yard, then it gets a little nuts!
So then I get up, turn to my porch, walk up the steps and go into the house. Minutes later, I swing the door open, run back out and scare the grackles away!!
LOL!!!
