Flu Season
« on: January 10, 2013, 04:37:10 am »
Is your area in the middle of the flu season.  I live in PA and we are getting hit pretty good.  Sadly we have 22 deaths from it so far  :'(  Our hospital's emergency rooms  are so full they have put up tents to deal with emergency visits for flu people who don't have to be admitted.  Did you get the flu shot?  I did and I hope it keeps me healthy.  :dontknow:

Yes, I got my flu shot and my husband did also. Since he is on oxygen, we have to take precautions because of his low immunities. Here in Texas, people all around us have been sick, but so far we haven't gotten ill. My husband has not felt well, but I hope that has been weather related and not because he has gotten a bug! So far our city metro has only had 3 deaths, but they were children. I am sure that our area has not seen the last of it, but people are lining up to get the shot. Good Luck to you and  beleive that those flu shots really work.

Yes, I got my flu shot last October.  But it's not too late, even now in January to get yours if you haven't gotten it.  So far, so good for me.

Been hearing about the severe flu bug that is raging in many areas. Doesn't take much to knock you so be prepared!

That's awful!  :-[  I haven't got the flu shot this year. I don't plan on getting it. I don't know, I don't see the point in getting a shot if I haven't been sick with the common cold or flu in years! (knocks on wood  :P ). I'm very cautious though! I wash my hands, ehhh, probably 30x a day! Not even kidding!   LMAO!  :P

Around here you don't have to get a shot, they have some kind of vaccine in spray form that they can use. I should get vaccinated but even the health department wants money for the shot.

You'll probably be fine. The flu virus takes lives every year but the media reports more and more each year so the general public freaks out. The CDC has never once had a case where they proved that the vaccine saved a life. You have an immune system for a reason. Try to eat healthy, wash your hands and stay away from those who are ill. I don't get the flu shot and neither do my children. I'm just not worried about it.

I never get the flu shot.   I don't believe it works since the flu mutates constantly.   I did have the flu this year though.  Knocked me off my feet for almost a week, but I still don't believe I should have gotten the shot.
