I think that besides the tablet being better, when you buy an iPAD you are really only buying the Ipad name

I should of bought an ipad, but I got a little cheap tablet, I got really good reviews so I decided to buy it, soon as I ordered it, I read nothing but bad stuff about it, I originally had a galaxy tab ordered, but walmart wonderful walmart.; out of stock...so now stuck with a cheap version tablet. oh well.  :BangHead:

I thought that iPad was just a specific brand of tablet. I am not sure though. I do know my husband received an iPad as a Christmas gift last year and he loves it.

iPad is a tablet,  just from Apple. There are differences between different tablets, and they don't work the same as PCs. Whether or not they work as well as a PC is a matter of opinion, but if you're considering getting one to replace a computer, I personally wouldn't recommend it. Even though tablets are technically small, portable computers, most run on a mobile platform, not the operating systems you find on either a Windows or Apple computer, so you won't have all the same features as on your PC. That being said, there is a new Windows 8 tablet being (already been?) released, and I can't personally tell you how iPad is different from other tablets as I don't have an iPad. I do have a Sony tablet, though, which I use for school. I chose it with the help of a website (which I cannot for the life of me remember what it was) which asked me questions about what was important to me in a tablet. I love it, but when I have access to my laptop, my laptop always wins out.

Ooh, and if you're looking at a tablet on the Android platform, you have to be a little more careful about which one you choose. Android purposely made their platform highly customizable so that different companies could adjust it to their needs for their products. While there are some great tablets running the Android platform (including mine), some companies have dramatically stripped the platform down and put it on cheap, low-quality tablets. I think I even read a review on one that forgot to put a charging port on the tablet, so taking the time to research is definitely worth it.

I AM STILL CONFUSED BETWEEN THE I PHONE, I PAD AND I POD. THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS OUT THESE DAYS AND IT SEEMS ALMOST ALL AT ONCE. I AM YOUNG BUT APPARENTLY THAT DOESNT HELP ME IN THIS SITUATION AT ALL!

An I-Phone is a smart phone, an I-Pod is a portable media player, and an I-Pad (as has been said) is a tablet.

It depends.  Due to Apple being trendy, the I-Pad is overpriced.  However, it's pretty good.  Personally, I'd buy the Nexus 7 or 10.  A year or two ago, the I-Pad blew away Android or any other tablets due to more developers developing for the I-Pad.  A lot of Android tablet apps were also made with smart phones in mind and ported to use on tablets.  Now, while the I-Pad still has more apps, I wouldn't say the difference is worth $100 more (which the 4th gen I-Pad is over the Nexus 10).

Pretty much brand. It's pretty much like the different between an iPhone and an android for example.

Apple iPad is really the superior when talking about tablet.  Besides all the Apps.  It is Fast, Easy of use, beautiful retina display and the battery life is one of the best.

I personally think the I Pad isn't all that great.  I think I can probably do the same things on my Samsung Galaxy SIII, it's just smaller.  Other than that, I don't know what the differences would be.  Most people don't need a ton of aps.  My phone takes great pictures, I can read a book on there if I want, (I wouldn't, but I could), watch a movie, listen to music and surf the web.  What else do you need?    :peace:
