Can someone give advice on trying to rid one's mind from an ex who was a user?

I need help. If someone can give me advice on erasing my ex out of my head. I stopped it a few years ago, knowing he was no good for me but can not stop thinking about the   :BangHead: dufus player. I want to be able to trust men again but do not know where to begin. Please help. :dontknow:
