We have a bird feeder up all year long.  It is fun to watch the birds, the bluejays are really just plain hogs, they will eat everything up very quickly, especially if the food has corn in it. We have a small bush by the feeder and the birds love that. They light on the branches and then hop into the feeder.

I own a hummingbird feeder, but haven't found the best spot to hang it yet.  I don't have a regular bird feeder, but my boyfriend will throw stale cereal and bread out in the yard for them sometimes.  It makes my cat nuts when the yard is full of noisy birds and she can only watch from the window.

Even without a bird feeder, we have all kinds of small birds frequent the place nearby to our home. I really enjoy watching them, and they come in large numbers, and fly away all at once, as though they have some kind of signal between them.
