i pray that no one has to deal with the destruction that this storms is packing my sister and neice live in nj and have not spoken to them so i hope they are safe also have other relatives in ny so my prayers go out to all up there

No, such 'magical intercessory rituals' provide no pragmatic assistance to those in any storm's path.  Such people would do better to seek shelter where they can than to rely upon superstitious nonsense which could lead to injury or death.
