theres always been bad things going on in the world, but in the last 30 years, it has exploded on the internet, news and newspapers.  dirty laundry is in, and happy articles are out.

What is happening in our society?  The youths are killing each other.  I like to read the local paper in my community and every week is something bad happened.

This is the reason I don't read the paper or watch the news. People are selfish jerks and nothing good is ever reported. It's awful.

Scare tactics sell while good deeds are a much nicer read. If you know too much about what is going on then you would hate the world and everyone in it. I prefer to be at least a little ignorant because life it too short to always worry about what could happen. Take life as it comes and make the most of it.

I think that today's on the spot news is the reason that we appear to be hearing about more shootings and bad news.  Take for instance alcohol related deaths. I know of so many people, in my day, that had celebrated their twenty first birthdays by having twenty one shots yet we hear about people dying from sixteen to eighteen shots. We didn't werar helmets or seat belts in my day yet never heard of someone dying because they weren't wearing one.  I think that the media down plays deaths that ocurred while peole were wearing helmets and safety belts and sensationalize those that don't.
