Abortion is simply the scientific name for murder. :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2:

I'm not for it nor against it. Its a woman's choice, i just hope they look at all aspects beofre making a decision. At the end of the day they have to live with it.

I don't understand how people can say they're "neutral" or not for or against it, and that it's a woman's choice? Obviously that means you're for it.....that expression alone means you think it's okay

On another note - is the morning after pill the same thing as an abortion?

The 'reasoning' is faulty since it omits that the woman's choices include abort/don't abort.  This means that she can decide which option to choose.  Supporting the removal of the option to choose, (either way), forces the decision.

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I think this one would have been good for the "Debate and Discuss" sub-forum, but who am I to judge? ;-)... As far as abortions, I'm pro choice.  I don't agree with using abortion as a form of contraceptive or birth control, but do feel that it's a woman's choice to do what she wants to do with her body.

I personally am against abortions but at the same time one has to think about several things that come into factor whether the mother or child is gravely ill and if the doctor thinks saving the life of one is better than delivering the other. For example I had a DNC because I had fallen down my stairs the killed the child I was 14 wks almost at the end of my 4th month. The doctors did a dnc because they could not find the heart beat. So it depends on the reason and circumstances behind the reason. A DNC is pretty much the same thing as an abortion right?

My two cents:

Abortion is legal up to 14 weeks gestation in the U.S. (not 12 weeks) and up to 24 weeks (6 months) in some states.

I think it's the person's choice.

It most definitely is a choice....BUT.... the choice comes BEFORE sexual intercourse, not AFTER.

I was reading the newspaper a few months ago and saw an article on a 4 month old that was killed by her parents. The baby had been raped, thrown against the wall, and thrown into the fan. Now, are you telling me that you preferred this child go through all that rather than just to have been aborted? And that is definitely not the first case I've seen like that.

This is abortion....only difference, the kid is 4 months old after birth as opposed to 4 months old after conception.
If the woman DID NOT CHOOSE to have sex it is NOT a choice...

Abortions are a matter of personal choice...if we would leave each other alone on personal choices, we could solve a lot more pressing issues.

I'm pro-choice about everything, including abortion.  Fortunately, I've never walked in the shoes of someone who experienced an unexpected pregnancy.

I won't judge because we're all individuals and we all need to use our best judgement whenever it's time to make important decisions.

 I agree completely. I'm 100% pro-choice. I don't believe any has the right to tell us what to do with our bodies.

My comments were about women who choose to have an abortion after they've chosen to have sexual intercourse.  My comments were not geared toward rape victims.  The amount of abortions that happen after a rape are a mere fraction compared to the abortions that are performed after consensual sexual intercourse.  It always surprises me that people are so concerned about taking away a women's choice when millions of women have their choice of life taken away and their own choice of future pregnancies through the means of abortion.

I don't agree with abortions except in the case of rape or incest. I also believe that even in those cases the abortion should take place in the first trimester after that forget it. The person can put the child up for adoption there must be limits. I ask people to think about the mental state of a woman who has been raped before you think about forcing a person who has been violated and tortured to have the horror of carrying the child of a beast. Imagine the child of your worst enemy growing inside you. How would you feel having it drain your body for life. This is an act of love for a mother to nurture her child. I think it's sick to force someone who has been raped to do that. This person did not chose to have sex it was forced on her. This was not lust or love or a relationship gone bad. She is not some irresponsible lazy person who didn't use protection. People seem to confuse rape with sex. Why is that? People seem to think of rape as an incident that happened. It is in fact sometimes the destruction of a life. She was going about the business of her life and was attacked. Does she deserve to have a lifetime punishment for that? Have you written to your state representatives asking that parental rights be revoked in cases of rape and incest? I bet you haven't! You seem to be all too willing to bring down the hammer but has the thought about the fact that it takes years of therapy to recover from these kinds of issues and has the cost to the public for that crossed your mind? Women are emotionally disabled by rape, which in a lot of cases means they become unemployable. Am I supposed to pay for her care, which I don't mind at all then, in addition a child and the rapists incarceration? I'm sorry I don't think so. I don't have that kind of money. I think people who think like that have been brainwashed by people who want to increase the birthrate for the purpose of the military. These issues always seem to come up around wartime. We have been fighting on two fronts lately Iraq and Afghanistan  and Desert Storm before that. I guess it's one of those things that make you go hummm... anyway enough. All this phony bs makes me weary. :angry7: :angry7: :angry7:
