Apparently, the offer periodically takes flight and then returns later.

Actually, I *did* post both of those.  I can see how that might have been confusing.  The truth is that there is a daily limit and when it's reached it goes down.  Lately that's been happening around midday/early afternoon.  But it's certainly possible that it may go down sooner (on a busy day) or later (on a Sunday).  And, I would expect it to expire earlier and earlier as time goes by and more people notice the offer.

If you search my history I'm sure you can come up with plenty of cranky quotes.  But I try to keep some perspective on the matter (answering questions and helping people is part of my job, after all).  In any case, it doesn't hurt to have members keeping us honest.  I would rather be held to a high standard than just ignored or abandoned.  Behind every complaint is someone who cared enough in the first place to sit there and type it out.
