Birds!

We have robins, doves, blue jays and wood peckers who feed in our front yard. We also had a dove nest with 2 babies in a lilac tree outside our bedroom window this spring.

We have a birdhouse on top of a pole on our back patio.  There is a family there and we watch the parents fly in and out to feed their babies.  We can hear them chirping, especially when the parents come with food in their beak.  Very fascinating to watch.  I hope I can see when the babies get to try out their wings.

we have geese that make noise 24 hrs a day and other birds chirp early in the morning.

  I usually hear wrens in the morning, and it always amazes me how such a small bird can make so much noise. We also have a lot of Mockingbirds so sometimes it's hard to tell what kind of bird I'm really hearing. I also heard an owl the other night. It was in the woods right behind the house. I love living in the country, you just never hear sounds like that in town.

I not only hear them, but have been watching from my kitchen window while the parents are feeding their young in the nest, and it is so interesting!  Both the male and female take turns bringing food to their family.  I took pictures when the babies would have their beaks open wide waiting for food!!

We have cardinals and morning doves as well as robins around here....we can hear them after 5am! I actually saw a hummingbird by my bush the other day!
