We have always been really bad about having an emergency kit. We have made one a few times but it never seems to stay organized. Organization is something we really need to work on. If we needed to though we could survive. My husband knows how to do anything when it comes to survival. We have spent most of our lives surviving. I know if the power went out right now...we do have a flash light, extra water, can goods, wood for a fire to cook on. And we do have a generator...it just needs gas.

I have candles and flashlights available at all times.  I also make sure the dishwasher isn't loaded too full and the laundry isn't too large.  I also keep milk jugs of water in the freezer to help keep things there cold.

I am not prepared for any power outage.  Hopefully, I will be in the future. Maybe have a generator on hand.

I am not at all prepared for anything long term if the power goes out. I think I'd be set for about 2 hours.

We lost power one winter for 12 days so we BBQed out side and purchased a propane heater, we had to many people in the house so we got on each os nerves.  They wasnt much we could do until power company found the source we had all our food spoil but the state provieed some relief that by giving out food stamps to replace the food we lost.  At that time I was doing online courses from the University of phoenix and I did what I could on paper so I was ready to post it when I got my power back on.

Battery operated flashlights and radio, candles, wood stove for heat in winter, propane grills for cooking, dry ice in freezer, coolers for fridge items.  Would be nice to have a backup generator.

Always have flashlights around you and get a good book and read and pray they hurry up with the power.

:D I am going to save money before economic is completely gone down. That is not never happening, that is just lately or early, because if governments and scientists may stop that, they stopped that already. I am worry because it will effect to my life someday never know. "Fever" is going to be worse! I don't have a job now, if they still have plenty they will give me some extra left, now they just saved for themselves. Like money for every salaries are divided to make giving salaries longer, so is not for me at all, because I am outsiders. My dad is going further, and don't care about me at all, maybe i am just a hostage, that is useless to him, and I cannot even be his jar of flower or do something I can do best for him. Why he don't let me died completely.

I have flashlights, battery operated lanterns and a little storm station for short periods but after hurricanes I'm not prepared. I stay where I'm at until the power is back.
